Alice2020-09-11T11:07:51+00:00As well as designing lampshades, we also do a spot of renovating in our spare time.
We are thrilled to see our bathroom renovation featured in this months edition of House Beautiful!
Thank you to Fiona Walker-Arnott for taking the most gorgeous pictures and Mandi Millar for writing all about it.
House Beautiful Oct 2020
We are thrilled to finally share with you two new lampshade designs in collaboration again with our talented design friend Susi Bellamy.
Introducing her Peacock Bouquet and Carnelian Marbled Orange. These two beautiful satin silks are an absolute dream to pleat.
I've fallen in love with the amount of detail in the tops of these shades and the endless swirl of patterns.
Susi's new collection also features sumptuous velvet throws, tasselled cushions and upholstered folding screens.

In the make on the cutting table, here you can see how we pin the silk around our bespoke frames before the pleating begins.
All our lampshades are hand stitched to order and are suitable for use as pendants or on lampstands. They come in 3 sizes, 12", 16" and 20" and can be ordered over in our Shop.
Susi's Carnelian Marbled Orange is featured here with two tone fringing in terracotta and aubergine.

Alice2020-09-05T19:46:52+00:00Lovely to be featured in a special write up about Wirksworth by our neighbours down the road 'Curiousa & Curiousa'.
Wirksworth really is a great place to be based, especially for a creative business such as ourselves, I feel very lucky to be part of this thriving network.

This cluster of five Tiffany shades look fantastic in the evening light against this very special embroidered wall hanging from Wendy Morrison Design. I've been dying to get this up with the shades for what seems like an eternity, so I'm really chuffed to now see them in situ. I love the whole black and white Japanese vibe here and the lampshades look almost like traditional lanterns.
We decided to give this the wall space it deserves and it now provides a beautiful backdrop for the lampshades.
You can find our range of Cluster Lighting available to order in the shop on the following link or you can pick and mix your own designs and colours, please do get in touch to discuss your ideas. https://beauvamp.com/shop/

A show that I've always been a huge fan of and so when I got a call from the set decorator, Casey Williams, asking for some Tiffany lampshades, it was a surreal moment!
Here are a few snap shots that Casey took from behind the scenes inside 'Villanelles' bedroom featured in Series 3.
It's lovely to see our Hibiscus Tiffany shade sitting on set amidst these locally sourced antiques plus a rather grand four poster bed @frenchbedroomcompany.

Room of the Month!! With Pearl Lowe and Woodchip & Magnolia
Alice2020-03-09T09:21:04+00:00Well this is all very exciting!
After completing our downstairs washroom project using some rather gorgeous wallpaper designed by Pearl Lowe, it has been specially selected for 'room of the month' by Woodchip & Magnolia and you can read all about it below...taken from their blog 'If walls could talk'.
'Dawn Chorus Noir' Wallpaper by Pearl Lowe for Woodchip & Magnolia.
Room of the month // @Beauvamp
By Nina Tarnowski on March 01, 2020
Room of The Month comes from Alice Moylan, the passionate founder and designer of vibrant British lighting brand BeauVamp.
We spotted her small room makeover on her Instagram account: @beauvamp using our Pearl Lowe Dawn Chorus Noir Black Wallpaper and love the way it has transformed a small space into a style haven.

We spoke to Alice, about her signature style, her gorgeous lamps and her own partnership with Woodchip & Magnolia design partner Pearl Lowe.
What did you want to achieve with your renovation?
I wanted to give our small washroom as big an impact as possible and so wanted a classic but bold design. I love the chinoiserie style and this seemed to tick all the boxes with the colours. I was looking for moody with a twist and the English garden blooms and birds were a perfect combination.
Can you explain your signature home style?
I live in a period Georgian home and my style is definitely eclectic. I’m drawn to anything old with a bit of history but I like to jazz it up a bit with a contemporary twist. So perhaps William Morris wallpaper with an Ercol chair or set of tables.
What inspired you to pick Dawn Chorus? What attracted you to it?
Well I’d recently collaborated with Pearl Lowe on the lampshades and knew of her collection, so I’d had my eye on this design for a while.
How does the finished room make you feel?
I love it, it’s nice to have a totally finished room, no matter how small.
How does the wallcovering work with your existing interiors?
I think it works well. I have a lot of traditional William Morris wallcoverings, so the birds and flowers are a nice contrast.
What should no home be without?
Colour and a comfy sofa.
What’s your favourite month?
September, it’s my birthday!
Beauvamp // Woodchip & Magnolia London Design Fair 2018
What’s your favourite colour?
Tricky, there are so many, I’m always drawn to blue, especially teal.
Finally, name three Woodchip & Magnolia products you love?
I love your new wall murals, especially the ‘Sunrise’, ‘Zephyr’ and ‘Oasis’ murals; if only I had a wall big enough!!

Alice2020-03-09T08:46:45+00:00One of our most popular colourways is the Blush Pink 'Fondant' silk coupled with beige and ivory fringing. So I was delighted when Pearl Lowe asked if I could make a pair to hang as bedside lights in her bedroom.
Each lampshade is hand stitched and pleated around a bespoke bronze frame and finished in a two tone fringe with gold braiding. We also supplied the vintage twisted flex and pendant accessories in antique brass. The perfect combination in Pearl's eclectic room full of soft pinks, pastel blues, creams and green.

Pearl has just launched her new book 'Faded Glamour' which details her passion for vintage and you can take a peek at the rest of her rooms in all their glory.
BeauVamp is thrilled to announce our most recent collaboration with maximalist colour and pattern brand, Susi Bellamy. After Susi and Alice met on Instagram, it was clear that their love of combining classic design elements with daring new colour palettes was something they shared.
The two decided to collaborate on a capsule collection of lampshades combining BeauVamp's bespoke lampshade frames and signature two tone fringing with Susi Bellamy fabrics. The Multi Blocks Grid print was selected because it has an ultra-modern edge and the designers liked the idea of combining something so fresh with such a classic style of lampshade.
Just look up... even the interior of the lampshade is it's own design feature, boasting a bespoke bronze frame.
BeauVamp's lampshades are inspired by the lighting of the early 1900s which didn't shy away from tassels, fringing, and unusual ornate shapes. 'We offer statement lighting for unique interiors', complementing Susi’s philosophy of luxurious eclecticism and distinctive design.
The silk satin fabric has a very subtle lustre when lit from within, which really emphasises the vibrancy of colours and reinforces the delicate pleating-work that has become part of BeauVamp’s signature style.
The lampshades are available to order from August 2019 with a lead time of 8 weeks.
